The Four Seasons needs a second season, ASAP! The new Netflix series from Tina Fey, Tracey Wigfield, and Lang Fisher — a reimagining of the 1981 eponymous Alan Alda film — is already gaining steam and fans for its hilarious and refreshing take on friendship and love. The series follows three couples — Kate (Fey) and Jack (Will Forte), Danny (Colman Domingo) and Claude (Marco Calvani), and Nick (Steve Carell) and Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver) — as they take seasonal vacations together and navigate minor and major life changes.
Broadway star Erika Henningsen also appears as Ginny, an unexpected addition to the group. Let this serve as your official spoiler alert that this article contains details from Season 1.
So, is there going to be a Season 2? Here’s everything we know about the second season of The Four Seasons… Photo: JON PACK/Netflix © 2024 Is There Going To Be A Season 2 Of The Four Seasons? As of May 2, Netflix has not renewed The Four Seasons for a second season.
Typically, Netflix takes a few weeks to a few months to renew their shows so there is no reason to freak out yet. How Does Season 1 of The Four Seasons End? After spending New Year’s Eve with their respective friend groups — Nick and Ginny (Erika Henningsen) with Ginny’s friends and the rest of the original ensemble at a cabin with Anne’s new boyfriend — Ginny and Nick get into a fight over his insufficient efforts to connect with her friends.
Ginny even notes that Nick couldn’t even remember that many of her friends are sober and vegan. On the way home, however, Nick crashes his car and dies as a result of his injuries, leaving Ginny to break the horrific news to Kate and the rest of the friend group.
In the final episode of Season 1, “Fun,” the entire group comes together to put on a funeral — a shoddy one, albeit — to honor Nick’s life. At the funeral, Anne struggles to allow Ginny to contribute to the day’s events, only to sit down and find out some shocking information during their one-on-one conversation. The final moments of the season see the entire group — Anne and Ginny, included — remembering Nick over dinner only for a bombshell to be dropped by Ginny as she announces that she is pregnant with Nick’s child.
Talk about a cliffhanger! Who Stars In The Four Seasons On Netflix? Aside from the main cast members mentioned above, the show also stars Julia Lester, Ashlyn Maddox, Chloe Troast, and Jacob Buckenmyer.
The series also features a special guest appearance from Alda in Episode 2, playing the father of Kenney-Silver’s character. What Has The Cast Said About A Second Season Of The Four Seasons? Chatting with DECIDER, Fey even said that after getting Alda to appear in Episode 2, “Garden Party,” there is hope that they might be able to nab a Season 2 renewal for one special guest star. “The door is always open for Carol Burnett,” Fey said.
