What's next for the Bears following the 2025 NFL draft The 2025 NFL draft is in the books, and it was impactful one for the Chicago Bears. But there's still plenty of offseason action on the way. Outside of the on-field action with rookie minicamp, OTAs and veteran minicamp, the NFL is also gearing up for its 2025 schedule release in the coming weeks.
The Bears welcomed eight new rookie to the roster: tight end Colston Loveland, wide receiver Luther Burden III, offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo, defensive tackle Shemar Turner, linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II, cornerback Zah Frazier, guard Luke Newman and running ack Kyle Monangai. Here's a look at the Bears' upcoming 2025 offseason slate, including rookie minicamp, OTAs and mandatory minicamp. Rookie minicamp: May 2-5 or May 9-12 Following the NFL draft, the Bears can hold their three-day, post-draft rookie minicamp wither May 2-5 or May 9-12, where new rookies will hit the practice field at Halas Hall for the first time.
There will also be undrafted free agents looking to earn a roster spot. Schedule release: May 14 In case you missed it, the NFL announced during the 2025 NFL draft that they will be releasing the 2025 schedule on May 14. While we already know exactly who the Bears will be playing next season, we'll soon learn exactly when they'll be playing those teams, as well as how many prime-time games they'll have.
OTA workouts: May 20-22, May 27-30, June 9-11 The Bears will meet as a team, new rookies included, beginning May 20 for the first of 10 voluntary OTA practices at Halas Hall, which will include veterans and rookies. They'll meet May 20-22, May 27-30 and June 9-11. Mandatory minicamp: June 3-5 The Bears will hold their mandatory minicamp from June 3-5.
This usually marks the final organized set of practices before training camp in late July, but Chicago has a set of OTAs scheduled the following week after mandatory minicamp. Training Camp: Late July After a summer break, the Bears will meet back at Halas Hall for training camp in late July (dates to be announced) to mark the official start of the preseason. This will mark Ben Johnson's first training camp as head coach, and it sounds like we can expect some joint practices.
