As Shedeur Sanders waited to hear his name called in the NFL draft, he got some words of advice from someone who knows a thing or two about falling in the draft. Tom Brady said on the IMPAULSIVE podcast that he texted Sanders to give him some words of encouragement during his unexpected slide in the NFL draft. "I actually texted Shedeur because I know him very well," Brady said (36:45 mark).
"And I said, 'Dude, whatever happens, wherever you go, that's your first day. Day 2 matters more than the draft.' I was 199.
So who can speak on it better than me? Use it as motivation, you're going to get your chances and go take advantage of it." As Brady mentioned, he fell all the way to the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL draft, but went on to have a Hall of Fame career.
Sanders, who was picked in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns, will look to defy odds in a similar fashion.
