FRISCO, Texas – Richard Gallant (Concord, Mass.) netted a pair of goals to help the U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team to a 5-3 win here tonight over Germany at Comerica Center in its final preliminary round contest of the 2025 IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship. Team USA, which finished undefeated and atop the Group B standings, will face Latvia in quarterfinal action Wednesday (April 30) at Comerica Center.
Faceoff is set for 7:00 p.m. local, 8:00 p.m. ET and the game can be seen live on NHL Network. “Good teams adapt and find ways to win,” said Greg Moore (Lisbon, Maine), head coach of the U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team.
“Our group is deserving of a 4-0 record after the preliminary round. Today’s win was heavily dependent on our special teams. We will need to maintain that level of execution in the quarterfinals.” Germany struck first at 11:38 in the first period, but less than three minutes later Asher Barnett (Wilmette, Ill.) answered off the rebound of a blast by Benjamin Kevan (Fairfield, Calif.).
