This happened after she released a special signed CD to celebrate the album’s first anniversary. When it first came out in April 2024, it broke records by having the biggest opening week in the UK in seven years, beating Adele’s album 30 and matching a record not seen since Ed Sheeran’s 2017 album ÷ (Divide).
Fans are now guessing if Taylor will release a re-recorded version of her album Reputation or even her first album. In the UK singles chart, Alex Warren’s song Ordinary has stayed at number one for six weeks, making it the longest-running number one single of 2025 so far. It even beat Lola Young’s Messy, which was number one for four weeks.
The last song to stay longer at the top was Sabrina Carpenter’s Taste, which held the spot for nine weeks in 2024. Other albums in the top five include Sabrina Carpenter’s Short ‘N’ Sweet at number two, Ed Sheeran’s + – = Divide X Tour Collection at three, Fleetwood Mac’s 50 Years – Don’t Stop at four, and The Weeknd’s The Highlights at five. In the singles top five, after Alex Warren’s Ordinary, the list includes Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club, Ed Sheeran’s Azizam, Show Me Love by WizTheMc and Bees And Honey, and Doechii’s Anxiety.
Doechii, a rising US rapper named Jaylah Hickmon, also made it into the albums top 40 for the first time with her mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal. A fun fact: Jack Black’s very short song Steve’s Lava Chicken from A Minecraft Movie climbed to number 11 on the singles chart. At just 34 seconds, it’s now the shortest song ever to enter the UK singles chart, beating the previous record of 36 seconds.
Social media star Addison Rae also made it into the UK top 40 singles again with her song Headphones On, after success last year with Diet Pepsi.
