Pop icon Taylor Swift, close friend of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively and the godmother to the couple’s children, has been subpoenaed to appear as a witness in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s ongoing legal case. The case started after Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni had conflict on the sets of their movie It Ends with Us. But Swift’s spokesperson released a statement that the singer had no involvement with the movie besides her song ‘My Tears Ricochet’ being used.

They also mentioned that the subpoena is for unnecessary publicity. “Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history,” the spokesperson told PEOPLE. They also added, “The connection Taylor had to this film was permitting the use of one song, ‘My Tears Ricochet.’ Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.” According to PEOPLE, their source revealed, “Anyone that had any knowledge of this situation will be subpoenaed, no matter of their celebrity status,” adding that Hugh Jackman might also be subpoenaed.

Blake Lively first sued Baldoni, the director and her co-star in the movie in December. She accused him of sexual harassment and “disturbing” and “unprofessional” behaviour on set. She also accused that Baldoni had started a smear campaign against her.

Not only did Baldoni deny the allegations, he also filed a countersuit for defamation and extortion against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds and their publicity team in January 2025.
