Update: The Summer Game Fest 2025 showcase is now live, and you can watch it with us in the story below to see if we get Street Fighter 6 Season 3 or perhaps something else fighting game related. Although E3 may be gone, June still remains the month for big video game announcements starting earlier this week with the State of Play event where we saw the reveal of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. The Summer Game Fest 2025 showcase is set to begin today, promising dozens of new game reveals and world premieres that you likely won't want to miss.
This latest incarnation of the show hosted by Geoff Keighley is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET. The stream is planned to be around two hours long, so there's going to be a lot shown off here.
Obviously, the biggest thing we're keeping our eyes peeled for is the potential for Street Fighter 6 to show up with their Season 3 DLC character reveals. The 2024 Summer Game Fest was of course where Capcom announced the Season 2 roster, and Capcom is listed among the publishers featured at the event this year — so we'll see if they go for a repeat performance again. The one thing potentially holding us back from getting a Season 3 announcement right now is Street Fighter 6 already had a big week with the release of Elena and the new season's balance update, so perhaps they wouldn't want to steal some of their own thunder so quickly.
As for other developers presenting, Bandai Namco is confirmed to be here too, however, it's unlikely we see anything really new for Tekken 8 since they already released Fahkumram's trailer and teased Armor King as the next DLC after him. Our only other potential for big fighting game news today likely comes from Sega. Maybe we'll receive another update on the new Virtua Fighter project considering it was initially announced at Keighley's Game Awards last year.
