Former Jaguars Head Coach Coughlin thoughts Former Jacksonville Jaguars Head Coach Tom Coughlin weighs in on Travis Hunter's draft Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr. has been impressed with rookie Travis Hunter's work ethic and attention to detail during OTAs. Hunter and Thomas have developed a bond, with Hunter's inquisitive nature complementing Thomas's quieter personality.

Thomas is excited about the potential of the receiving corps, which includes Hunter, Dyami Brown, and himself. The first thing Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. noticed about rookie Travis Hunter was his attention to detail. Thomas said he was at the Miller Electric Center as the team hosted rookie minicamp, and he saw Hunter redoing drills if they weren’t done properly the first time.

“He might have got a drill wrong or something,” Thomas said he noticed as he watched from the side. “He was just hopping back in line, going right back at it, trying to find ways to do it right. Find ways to be the best that he can.” ALL ARE WELCOMED: Jaguars are opening the second of three mandatory minicamps to the public The two players have formed a bond to this point with Hunter’s bubbly personality balancing out Thomas’ quiet demeanor.

Every practice, you can see Hunter dancing off to the side in between drills as Thomas looks on. He’s essentially taken on the “annoying little brother” role for Thomas, asking several questions on why the Jaguars run certain plays against different looks among other things. “He’s been asking a lot of questions,” Thomas said while laughing after Jacksonville’s 10th organized team activity practice.

“But that's just him trying to be the best that he can be.” Brian Thomas Jr. is excited to play alongside Travis Hunter, Dyami Brown When the Jaguars drafted Hunter, they boldly planned to allow him to play on both sides of the ball. OTAs has provided a chance to see what the duo of Thomas and Hunter might look like moving forward. Both players are versatile in their abilities, lining up all over the field.

And with free agent addition Dyami Brown in the mix, there’s no limit to what Jacksonville’s offense can achieve. MORE ON OFFENSE: Is Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence operating at high level? Liam Coen: Yes, he is “They're both going to play a big role in the offense,” Thomas said of Brown and Hunter.

“They're both going to help us out and push us to go where we want to go. I'm super excited to have both.” Thomas presents the ability to play inside or outside, something head coach Liam Coen has been very complimentary of. Hunter has displayed an ability to do the same in his college tape.

And Brown has been one of the most impressive players during offseason workouts. This, on paper, is the best batch of receivers during quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s tenure. Which will bode well for Jacksonville’s offense and bad for opposing defenses.

“It’ll be hard for them to lock in on one person. Just being able to have two or three guys out there that can run,” Thomas said. “Really, we all can do it all,” Thomas said.

We all can do everything. So just being able to have that, that it helps out the offense a lot.” The Jaguars will return to the field for mandatory minicamp June 10-12 before dismissing for the summer.
