CNN host shuts down MAGA millionaire’s defense of Trump

written by TheFeedWired

CNN host Abby Phillip delivered a brutal takedown of “Shark Tank” millionaire Kevin O’Leary on Wednesday night. The CNN panel on Wednesday discussed a Wall Street Journal report that said President Donald Trump declined a $15 million settlement from Paramount Global over his “60 Minutes” lawsuit with the company. Instead, Trump reportedly wants $25 million and an apology over its interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris.

O’Leary defended Trump’s decision on Wednesday and took issue with one of the panelists calling it a “nuisance lawsuit.” “Word salad edit. Do you remember the word salad edit?” he said, referring to the “60 Minutes” interview with Harris. Networks regularly edit interviews for length and clarity, and Trump has participated in a number of edited interviews himself.

The panel continued to go back and forth, with O’Leary complaining about the so-called “word salad edit.” CNN panelist Jennifer Welch ripped O’Leary for his defense of Trump with a new nickname for the president. “How do you guys constantly defend the biggest whining titty baby. He whines and cries non-stop.

He’s the president of the United States … and you’re defending that?” she asked. The roundtable laughed and the banter continued before O’Leary returned to his talking points. “Excuse me.

Did all the executives of CBS lose their jobs on “60 Minutes”? Yes or no. Yes.

Was it a salad edit? Yes," O’Leary said, adding CBS News edited the interview “to make her sound better.” Phillip quickly shut him down and asked whether former President Joe Biden should sue Fox News over their edited interviews with Trump. “Let me remind you,” Phillip said.

“When is Joe Biden going to sue Fox News over editing Donald Trump’s comments in an interview to make it sound better than it was? Then everybody should just sue.” O’Leary: They edited her word salad to make her sound better Phillip: When is Joe Biden going to sue Fox News over editing Donald Trump's comments in an interview to make it sound better than it was then? Everybody should just sue.

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that Paramount Global offered $15 million to settle the ongoing lawsuit brought against the parent company of CBS News.

But Trump reportedly wants $25 million and an apology from CBS News. Trump has also threatened another lawsuit against the company over alleged bias of news coverage, according to sources of The Wall Street Journal. Trump has claimed that CBS News edited the interview in a way that makes Harris look good, but CBS News has denied the allegations.
