Actress Connie Britton has motherly advice for her ‘White Lotus’ character

Even mom needs a little pep talk sometimes! Connie Britton is not only uplifting single moms in her new unscripted TV reality show – but she’s got some motherly advice for her beloved ‘The White Lotus’ character. “Poor Nicole Mossbacher,” Britton jokes.

“Nicole needed to practice a little self-love and a little bit of self-understanding, and we see her do that a little bit in this in that season of the White Lotus.” The 58-year-old actress starred in season one of the hit HBO show and hinted at wanting to reprise her role as the type-A mom in future seasons. Though she has yet to confirm her appearance in upcoming episodes, Britton admits she has empathy for the wealthy, privileged CFO. “Nicole is trying to juggle so much and balance so much in her life, as we all are.

I mean, she was to an extreme… But the thing that I connected to about that character is the search, to try to balance and to try to connect with the people in your life who you're doing so much for, but at the same time somehow, they're resenting you for it.” It's a feeling Connie relates to her in own life, saying, “Hey, I deserve to be respected and valued from the people around me that I give so much to.” Spoken like a mama who knows her worth! Britton is now offering her guidance and encouragement to single moms in the thick of it on her new Hallmark series.

The actress turned host teams up with experts dubbed ‘The Neighbor Ladies’ — Destini Ann, Taryn Hicks and Angela Rose — to give support to deserving single mothers tackling parenting duties without a village nearby. Ironically, the show’s concept was birthed out of a low moment in Britton’s own life experience. “That's where this idea started.

Was probably really during my identity crisis, after becoming a mom,” the actress admitted.“ I also had just moved to Nashville, Tennessee to shoot the show ‘Nashville,’ which was a big job, and so I was working, and I was a single mom, and had this new baby. I'm like, ‘Oh, how do I do it? Where's the guidebook?

How am I supposed to do this?’ And so, you know, it really made me recognize how essential it is, to have a support system and to have a community around you.” In 2011, Britton became a first-time mom after welcoming her son Yoby, now 14, through adoption. Admittedly, she tells Sinclair’s Courtney Tezeno she doesn’t feel like she “got her pink back” yet – an expression referring to moms regaining their identity and spark after becoming a parent. “It is so easy to lose that when we have our babies, you know?” Britton continues, “I'm still working on it, but I'm telling you that having the community is what helps me to get my pink back, because it reminds me, I'm worthy of my own value.” We asked the cast what their mom superpower is — Britton’s teenage son made it clear food is the way to his heart.

“My son told me the other day my superpower is making eggs in the morning,” she laughed. Fans will have to wait and see if Britton’s cooking skills will be put to the test on the show on ‘The Motherhood’ airing Monday's on Hallmark Channel.
