The playful '1989'-era selfie was taken ten years ago in 2015, a few years after Swift and Sheeran became friends. In the photo, Swift ditched her signature red lip and eyeliner by going makeup-free except for a hot pink lipstick.
Most of Taylor Swift’s best friends are part of her infamous girl squad, but Ed Sheeran has been a part of the “Blank Space” singer’s inner circle through her many eras. The longtime friends became close in 2012 when Sheeran learned Swift had penned the lyrics to one of his songs on her arm during an Australian show—and their friendship quickly blossomed as they hit the road together for her Red tour. While teasing his upcoming song “Old Phone” on Tuesday, Sheeran took a trip down memory lane as he shared a never-before-seen photo of a very young Swift.
Swift and Sheeran looked like babies in the throwback selfie circa 2015, which showed the friends making a silly face at the camera. The “Perfect” singer could be seen playfully scrunching his nose at the camera while showing off his colorful tattoo sleeve. Meanwhile, Swift—who ditched her signature red lip and cat eye for natural makeup and a fuschia pink lip—gazed at the camera with a faux forlorn expression.
