Add a friend, Max extra-member feature

written by TheFeedWired

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) -Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Disney+, and Max… the list of streaming media services for TV, sports, and movies is long! There are countless channels available. It can be a good problem to have—the possibilities for entertainment are endless.

Too bad our budgets aren’t unlimited. Many people are tempted to share their streaming passwords because subscriptions can get pricey. In the beginning, many streaming services focused on growth and were more tolerant of password sharing.

However, as investors increased the pressure to boost profits, businesses began to take a harder line. Shows like Severance, The Last of Us, The Residence, and Black Mirror are fun to watch as a group. Max is offering a new feature that allows you to add one person to your subscription—someone who isn’t in your household—for $7.99 a month.

This family member or friend will essentially have a separate, standalone account with their own login credentials under the primary owner’s account. The add-on feature is available only to those subscribed directly to Max; bundle subscribers are not eligible. Simply log in, go to settings, purchase the add-on, and then send the invitation to the person you’re adding to your account.

And that’s it! What won’t be as easy is sifting through all those different services to narrow down what you’ll actually watch. Copyright 2025 WALA.
