Helga Wéber, who appeared for Hungary at Eurovision 2012 and 2013 as a backing singer, has died at the age of 39 after a long illness. She is best known for being the backing singer for Hungary's entries in the song contest Compact Disco in 2012 and Bye Alex in 2013. Her death was announced by her musician husband Gábor on social media.

"She was an extraordinary woman – as a lawyer, she was always there with her positive personality, deeply feeling nature and immeasurable love; and as a musician, she brought joy to all of our lives. As a wife, friend, and companion, she gave me a love and strength that is hard to express in words," he wrote. Fans were devastated to learn of her death and paid tribute on Reddit.

"She had a voice of an angel and a kind soul with tremendous talent. May she rest in peace!" one wrote.
