Analyst confirms Cowboys committed draft larceny with ridiculous Day 2 haul

written by TheFeedWired

The Dallas Cowboys own seven selections on the final day of the 2025 NFL Draft. Fans are hoping they flip one of them to acquire a veteran wide receiver, a position they have not addressed with their first three picks. While WR is a major liability, the Cowboys did not force it after top target Tetairoa McMillan went No.

8 overall to the Panthers. Instead, they used their first-round pick on Alabama guard Tyler Booker, who strives to make opponents question their love for football on every snap. Booker is a really strong pick, but he is currently an afterthought in Dallas after the team's drafting masterclass on Day 2.

The party got started with Boston College EDGE Donovan Ezeiruaku, who has the athleticism and production to match, at No. 44 overall. They followed that with East Carolina cornerback Shavon Revel, a projected first round pick before a torn ACL suffered last September tanked his draft stock.

It's a fantastic haul and the folks over at Pro Football Focus are in lockstep as they gave Dallas tremendous remarks. Cowboys get highest grades possible for Donovan Ezeiruaku and Shavon Revel picks Donovan Ezeiruaku PFF grade: Elite " … The Boston College standout maintains a solid grading profile, particularly against true pass sets, where he clocked the most snaps of any edge rusher in the 2025 class (196), earning a 90.7 PFF grade and a 25.8% pass-rush win rate."

Shavon Revel PFF grade: Elite "Revel was the No. 44 player on the PFF big board, so his selection represents great value for theCowboys at No. 76.

Revel is a tall outside who earned a coverage grade above 80.0 in both 2023 and 2024." Music to Cowboys fans' ears, albeit not surprising music. Ezeiruaku was a projected first-round pick throughout the draft process.

The BC product gives Dallas a long-term pure pass rusher to deploy opposite Micah Parsons, but he should also remedy the team's woes defending the run. His 83.6 PFF run-defens grade placed in the 91st percenticle at the position last season, per PFF's Mason Cameron. Revel, meanwhile, plugs a big hole at cornerback. While he is still recovering from that ACL, he expects to be cleared for training camp. It's possible he starts the year on the PUP list, but he was a first round lock before the injury.

At 6-3 and 193 pounds, Revel has the size and athleticism to be a shutdown corner in press man coverage. He also has the vision and instincts to thrive in zone, making him a perfect fit in Matt Eberflus' 4-3 scheme. He allowed just a 55.7 passer rating in his final 15 games at ECU.

The Cowboys quietly have one of the strongest draft classes of any team.
