The Dallas Cowboys came out of the first round with a new starting offensive lineman for the third time in four years after they selected Alabama guard Tyler Booker with the No. 12 pick. While a reach in terms of value, Booker brings a mean streak and three years of starting experience at one of college football's preeminent programs.
He has natural leadership traits and a character that would win over most head coaches. The conversation now, though, is what Dallas does on night two. Saddled with the No.
44 pick, most fans are in lockstep wanting Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden to be the pick. The Cowboys badly need a WR2 opposite CeeDee Lamb and while there are some similarities to Lamb and Burden's games, the former Tiger is by far the best receiver available. Unfortunately, Dallas was dealt another bad hand as the Bears scooped up Burden minutes after the second round got underway with the No.
39 pick. Cowboys WR search continues after Bears steal Luther Burden The Cowboys have had some brutal luck in the WR department. First, Tetairoa McMillan was taken five picks before Dallas by the Panthers.
Seemingly every mock draft had Carolina taking the best defensive player available. You can go ahead and call that the best smokescreen of the draft thus far. McMillan is a young quarterback's dream, so Bryce Young is likely over the moon with the decision.

Jones called McMillan an "outstanding football player" and said he was "very high" on their board. The team clearly wasn't as high on Texas receiver Matthew Golden as was led on. Maybe they simply had Booker ranked higher on their board.
Regardless, Burden felt like Dallas' last best chance to get a surefire impact receiver. Now, it start's getting very dicey. Should the Cowboys take the best cornerback available?
Do they have a receiver ranked similar to Burden like Iowa State's Jaylin Noel? Do they consider a running back even though Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson are already gone? We'll know in just a few minutes, but the WR options are dwindling.
