The South Bay is where the idea for a beach football league first hit me, and it's only right that we kick off the tour here." He calls it "A full-circle moment." This innovative league is a flag and tackle football hybrid, borrowing elements from various sports, including ruby, soccer, and even hockey.

Its mission is to expand football's reach in an entirely new environment while creating more opportunities for athletes to continue playing the game at a high level. The Hermosa Beach Classic is free and open to the public from 9 AM to 5 PM, offering a full day of entertainment for all ages. Following the Hermosa Beach Classic, the 2025 BFL National Tour will head to Wildwood, NJ (June 6–8), Santa Monica, CA (July 2–3), Hampton Beach, NH (July 18–19), and will culminate at the Dream Beach Festival at American Dream Mall in New Jersey (August 15–17).

For those looking to take to the sand and compete in the BFL, player registration is currently open at BeachFootballLeague.com. Interested athletes are encouraged to register soon, as tryout spots are limited. Follow KNX News 97.1 FM Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | TikTok
