Recently, American rapper Azealia Banks made 'transphobic and offensive' comments about Lisa's look.
Azealia Banks attacks Lisa over her Met Gala 2025 look Lisa stunned in a black Louis Vuitton ensemble designed by Henry Taylor, complete with a blazer, bodysuit, pearls, and a styled updo. While her look quickly went viral, it was soon overshadowed by a wave of negativity from Azealia's comments. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Banks targeted Lisa’s appearance and wrote, "I’m sorry but this is giving ladyboy," a term often used in Southeast Asia to refer to transgender women.
She continued her tirade, saying, "It’s giving Adam’s apple and a not-so-taut tuck. Lisa is a man. I’m not walking that comment back."
The rapper is no stranger to online controversy and faced widespread backlash for her remarks, which many have labelled as both 'transphobic and xenophobic'. The remarks went viral, and BLINK didn't take a second to criticise for using 'harmful' language. Fans of Lisa flooded social media platforms to express their support and asked Azealia Banks to apologise for her behaviour.
One of the users wrote, "She definitely suffers from an inferiority complex." Another commented, "You have to be a very bitter and unloving person to say such absurd things as the ones you mentioned, in addition to being racist and transphobic, just improve." All about Azealia Banks' digs at Lisa This isn't the first time Banks has attacked Lisa.
In March, she dismissed Lisa’s album Alter Ego, stating bluntly, “I don’t listen to K-pop.” She has also criticised the K-pop industry as a whole, calling its artists unoriginal and their music a “crappy facsimile” of Black American hip-hop. In April, Banks again took aim at Lisa, calling her Coachella performance overly produced and lacking vocal strength. With these repeated comments, many are now accusing Banks of 'racism and xenophobia', pointing to a pattern of targeted hostility toward Asian artists.
