‘The Last of Us’ Season 2, Episode 4 recap: FEDRA officers, W.L.F. vs. Scars, and a shocking reveal from Dina

The series continues to introduce new characters with some shocking and gruesome torture scenes Bella Ramsey, Isabela Merced in The Last of Us Season 2 (HBO) While the last episode of The Last Us introduced the Seraphites, also called Scars, we learn more about them in Season 2, Episode 4. All while Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Dina (Isabela Merced) continue their hunt for Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) and the other Wolves, members of the Washington Liberation Front (W.L.F.) who killed Joel (Pedro Pascal).

Additionally, the wait it finally over to see Jeffrey Wright playing Isaac Dixon. But there's an unexpected cameo from a former Nickelodeon star and a new character not from the game world, Hanrahan, played by Alanna Ubach. Where to watch The Last of Us: Crave in Canada, HBO and Max in the U.S.

ADVERTISEMENT When asked by a colleague, Ben Ahlers's character Burton, why he calls the Seattle citizens Voters, Peck's character doesn't know, but Sergeant Isaac says it's because they took away their rights.

"We took away their right to vote, somebody started calling them Voters to mock them," he says. The troop arrives at their destination and Isaac exits the vehicle, bringing Burton with him, coming face-to-face with the head of the W.L.F., Hanrahan. Isaac takes a deep breath, throws a grenade in the vehicle with the remaining FEDRA officers and locks the door Then Hanrahan shakes his hand and says, "welcome to the fight."

Isaac turns to Burton and says, "make your choice." Josh Peck in The Last of Us Season 2 (Liane Hentscher/HBO) 'You want people to know that you're there' Now moving forward 11 years later to Dina and Ellie's journey, Dina is trying to look for pain medicine in an abandoned pharmacy during their first day in Seattle, but can't find any. But she does find something, that we don't see, but she picks up and doesn't tell Ellie about.

ADVERTISEMENT Riding through the streets of Seattle, Ellie and Dina are surprised by how much is still standing, with rainbow flags everywhere, but then they see a tank, surrounded by bodies in FEDRA gear, and Ellie decides to check if there's any ammo left inside. She just finds three burnt skeletons. When Dina spots giant W.L.F.

branding on a tower, she's concerned about Ellie's desire to attack. "If you paint a sign big enough to be seen from miles away, that means you want people to know that you're there," Dina says. "Which also means, more likely than not, you're prepared."

"And they're on a hill so they'll see us coming," Ellie says in response, with them agreeing they'll wait until night to arrive. They plan to wait it out in an abandoned record shop, where Ellie finds a guitar and starts playing and singing A-ha's "Take On Me," which brings tears to Dina's eyes. Jeffrey Wright in The Last of Us Season 2 (Liane Hentscher/HBO) 'You're going to lose' Then we catch up with Isaac, who's turning on a burner in a kitchen, talking about how when he was younger, he would impress women by cooking for them.

But he couldn't afford the best tools so he would go into Williams Sonoma and stare at the best French sauce pans, and vowed to one day be able to own one. It happened, but not as he planned. ADVERTISEMENT "The strange benefit of the apocalypse," he says.

We see he's been talking to a person who's chained to the wall naked, and has clearly been tortured. He's a Scar who still believes the Prophet is watching over him. Isaac asks him where the Scars are attacking next, and when he just corrects him with the name Seraphites, Isaac tells him to hold out his hand as he burns him with a hot copper pot.

There's a tense back and forth about killing children on both sides in this bitter battle between W.L.F. and Scars. "You're going to lose," the man says.

"Every day one of your Wolves come to see the truth and takes her into their heart. Everyday a Wolf leaves you … to become a Seraphite. And none of us ever leave to become a Wolf."

Then Isaac kills him and we see Burton, outside the kitchen, saying the man got what he deserved. Bella Ramsey, Isabela Merced in The Last of Us Season 2 (HBO) 'I'm going to be a dad' As Ellie and Dina plan their route into the building occupied by Wolves, they get through a window and walk into a room filled with hanging dead bodies, with their guts hanging out, which instantly makes Dina sick. But none of them are the Wolves that were in Jackson.

ADVERTISEMENT Following a trail of blood Ellie see "Feel Her Love" written in blood on the wall. That's when Ellie realizes the group they saw in the woods, the Scars, did this. "What the f**k is wrong with Seattle," Dina says in response.

Then a group of Wolves come in, cutting down the bodies, and they're given the order to kill any Scars they can find. At this point we get to one of the most impressive action sequences of the whole series. As Ellie and Dina manage to evade the Wolves, they see the W.L.F.

members being chased by infected. Frantically scrambling in a subway tunnel, Dina gets stuck at a turnstile and Ellie gives her arm to an attacking infected before eventually shooting it. Getting to a safe location, Dina points her gun towards Ellie, thinking she needs to kill her because she's been bitten.

Ellie says she would die for Dina, but that's not what's happening, and explained to Dina that she's immune. Begging Dina to believe her, Ellie says she's going to go to sleep on one side of the room, with Dina on the other, still pointing a gun at her, and Ellie will wake up as herself, proving her immunity. After some time has passed, Ellie shows Dina her bite mark, which is still just a cut.

Then Dina tells Ellie she's pregnant, she took multiple pregnancy tests she found at the pharmacy earlier in the episode. But then Dina jumps forward to kiss Ellie and they hook up. Dina also shares a story with Ellie about her childhood, specifically when she told her mother that she likes boys and girls, but her mom was adamant that she only like boys. "I got stuck," Dina says. "I tried to make things work with Jesse, … but I couldn't let myself just be."

Looking at the pregnancy tests Ellie says, "we're all having a baby," meaning Dina, Jesse and Ellie, and says, "I'm going to be a dad." But continuing their search for Abby, Ellie tells Dina she doesn't have to go. Now that things are different, she can stay behind.

Dina is adamant, they'll take on this journey together.
